Words matter only when there is sufficient context. Social media and advertising work to change the original meaning of many words. Transformation in the biblical sense means Supernatural Change. By definition, the agency of change is beyond mere human capability requiring a power vastly beyond the natural world. 

As an example, I can use colored contact lenses to change the color of my eyes, but nothing will transform my eyes into another color. Only supernatural power could accomplish something like this. In a similar vein total personality changes, radical behavior changes are often well beyond the best efforts of human beings. Saul to Paul in the bible illustrates this well. Taking a Christian Killer  & transforming him into a man willing to die for Jesus Christ.
